Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) shed 0.73% or 32.37 points to reach 4,424.93 points in the week ended 16 March.
The turnover increased to AED 1.09 billion this week from AED 958.89 million in the past week, with 409.97 million shares exchanged compared to 416.18 million shares a week ago.
The energy sector fell 2.24%, after Dana Gas and Taqa decreased 2.27% and 2.13%, respectively.
The telecom segment inched down 0.84% this week, dragged by Etisalat by the same percentage.
The banks sector went down by 0.59%, weighted by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank which declined 6.17%.
The real estate sector shed 0.15%, in line with the 0.42% fall of Aldar Properties.
The UAE markets are still going through a state of fluctuation and anticipation, technical analyst Gamal Agag told Mubasher, noting that it is notable that the companies that distributed cash dividends much more than the distribution percentage suffered from a decline in prices.
