ADX falls on blue chips at open

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) witnessed losses in Thursday’s early trades, weighed down by the decline of blue chips especially in the real estate, telecom and banks sectors.

The main index went down 0.7% or 33.16 points to reach 4,483.22 points by 10:40am UAE time.

The energy sector was the worst performer with a 1.39% decrease as Dana Gas slid 1.7%.

The real estate sector declined 1.36% after Aldar Properties retreated 1.48%. Likewise, the telecom sector also levelled down 1.01% as Etisalat tumbled 1.01%, while the banks sector fell 0.6% after First Gulf Bank (FGB) sank 1.65%.

Turnover stood at AED 35.53 million generated from the exchange of 13.94 million shares through 191 transactions.
