ADX falls to 20-session low

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) continued its decline for the third session in row on Wednesday, weighed by the energy and banks sectors.

The general index declined 0.13% or 5.04 points to reach 4,020.22 points; the lowest level since mid-December.

Trading volume decreased to 50.14 million shares on Wednesday, compared to 80.5 million shares on Tuesday. Turnover fell 22% to AED 160.187 million ($43.61 million), compared to AED 205.701 million ($56 million).

The investment sector retreated 1.91% as Waha Capital sank 1.91%.

The energy sector slid 0.76% after Dana Gas levelled down 2%. TAQA trimmed the sector’s losses after gaining 4.65%.

The banks sector slumped 0.1% after Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and First Gulf Bank went down 2.55% and 0.44%, respectively. 

The real estate sector was the only gainer after adding 0.05% due to a rise in Aldar Properties by 0.47%.
