ADX foreign, institutional investments reach AED502bn

Mubasher: Institutional and foreign investments in the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) totaled AED 502 million during September and October 2016, according to a press release.

In October, foreign investors’ activity netted AED 98 million, while institutional investment reached around AED 84.3 million, which means that both combined amounted to nearly AED 182 million.

By the end of October 2016, ADX main index reached 4300 points, as the industrial sector grew by 2.2%, followed by energy sector with 0.49%, and the insurance sector which gained 0.28%.

On the other hand, the telecom sector declined by 5.75%, retail sector decreased by 4.61%, banking sector 4.04%, investment and financial services 2.61%, services 2.20%, and real estate sector 1.26%.

The banking sector dominated the biggest share in total turnovers in October with AED 880 million or 38.63% of total traded values, followed by real estate with AED 655 million (28.78%) and telecom with AED 476 million (20.92%).
