ADX gains mount up to hit 2-year high

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) Jumped to touch a two-year high on Sunday, pushed up by gains from banks and real estate which outweighed the losses by the telecom and energy sectors.

The general index levelled up 3.68% or 143.93 points to reach 4,054.37 points, the highest level in 14 sessions.

Trading volume rose to 182.146 million shares today from 145.9 million shares on Thursday. Meanwhile, turnover dropped to AED 284 million ($77.32 million) from AED 314.27 million ($85.6 million).

The banks sector topped gainers after increasing 6.67%, backed by Commercial Bank International and First Gulf Bank which grew 13.81% and 12.38%, respectively.

The real estate sector went up 3.96% as Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties advanced 3.96% and 4.09% in a row.

On the other hand, the telecom sector led decliners, weighed by the losses of Etisalat.

The energy sector also fell 0.85% after Dana Gas retreated 2.27%. However, TAQA added 4.88%.
