ADX hits 20-session high Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Tuesday, spurred by the growth of blue chips.

The general index went up 1.39% or 59.70 points to reach 4,347.90 points.

Trading volume reached 290.09 million shares on Tuesday, compared to 385.175 million shares. Turnover amounted to AED 319.26 million, compared to AED 427.65 million.

The market’s rise was positively affected by the growth of real estate stocks, like Aldar Properties, on the back of positive financial results, according to Raed Diab, Vice President of Investment Research Department in KAMCO.

The main index should break above 4,330 points to reach 4,390 and 4,415 points, Diab added.

The energy sector gained 1.77% as Dana Gas increased 3.85%. The banks sector also advanced 1.55% after First Gulf Bank (FGB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) levelled up 2.59%, 1.18% and 0.23% respectively.

The telecom sector grew 1.34% as Etisalat went up 1.34%. Likewise, the real estate sector increased 1.31% after Aldar Properties advanced 1.53%.

Eshraq Properties was the most active stock after generating AED 141 million and accounting for around 50% of the market’s liquidity.
