ADX hits 2M high Monday on three sectors

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index gained 52.44 points, or 1.07%, to close at 49,72.28 points on Monday, its highest daily gain in more than two months, supported by the key sectors of banks, energy and telecommunication.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 81.06 million shares exchanged at a turnover of AED 194.56 million.

The banks sector rose 1.23% after the First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) gained 1.58%.

The energy sector saw a 1.03% uptick, supported by Dana Gas that levelled up 0.88%.

The telecommunication sector and its sole stock, Etisalat, gained 0.82% each.

The real estate sector also upped 0.54% after Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties rose 0.82% and 0.58%, respectively.

On the flipside, the industrial sector fell 0.45% as RAK Ceramics also fell 2.76%.

The First Abu Dhabi (FAB) led the ADX in terms of liquidity with AED 75.95 million, while Eshraq Properties was the most traded stock with 11.030 million shares.
