ADX hits highest level in 27 sessions

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance for the seventh session in row on Sunday, backed by the energy and banks stocks.

The general index rose 0.46% or 20.72 points to reach 4,555.60 points; the highest level in 27 sessions.

Trading volume reached 180.330 million shares on Sunday, compared to 124.66 million shares last Thursday.

Turnover stood at AED 182.22 million, compared to AED 307.29 million.

The energy sector topped gainers after adding 2.78% as Dana Gas advanced 3.57%.

Dana was the value leader after generating AED 56.12 million, with trading volume of 94.51 million shares.

The banks sector increased 0.63% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) recovered 2.71% and 0.39% in a row.

The telecom sector grew 0.53% as Etisalat levelled up 0.53%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector retreated 0.95% as Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties declined 2.41% and 0.71%, respectively.
