ADX hits lowest level in 12M

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed in the red, weighed by a semi collective decline of sectors led by the telecom and real estate sectors.

The general index lost 2.10% or 85.62 points to reach 4,000.71 points at close.

Turnover declined to AED 122.23 million on Sunday from AED 276.305 million on Thursday. Likewise, trading volume fell to 53.6 million shares from 94 million shares.

The investment sector lost 3.19% due to a drop in Waha Capital by 3.19%.

The telecom sector slid 2.49% after Etisalat retreated 2.49%.

The real estate sector levelled down 2.42% as Aldar Properties slumped 2.65%.

The banks sector decreased 2.19%, dragged by First Gulf Bank and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank which contracted by 3.04% and 2.70% in a row.

The consumer staples sector was the only riser after adding 1.15% as Agthia Group added 1.33%.
