ADX hits lowest level in 3M

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed in the red for the fifth successive session on Thursday, backed by the collective decline of banks and telecom sectors.

The general index levelled down 1.76% or 75.89 points to reach 4,235.38 points; the lowest level since 21 February.

The banks sector retreated 2.2% due to a decrease in First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) by 3.31% and 2.72%, respectively.

Trading volume reached 68.21 million shares on Wednesday, compared to 40.28 million shares on Tuesday.

Turnover stood at AED 132.89 million, compared to AED 85.80 million.

The telecom sector slid 1.68% as Etisalat went down 1.68%.

The real estate sector declined 1.66%, pressured by Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties fell 2.60% and 1.53%, respectively.

On the flipside, the energy sector advanced 0.7% as Dana Gas increased 1.92%.
