ADX in red; market cap gains AED 601m Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) declined 0.05% to close at 5,391.88 points on Thursday.

The ADX’s trading volume amounted to 39.519 million shares on Thursday from 57.34 million in the previous session, while the market’s turnover shrank to AED 153.580 million, compared to AED 200.73 million on Wednesday.  

Market capitalisation gained AED 601 million to AED 543.662 billion from AED 543.061 billion in the previous session.

The energy sector led fallers and slid 3.71%, pressured by the 6.6% decline in Dana Gas.

In addition, the investment sector retreated 0.87% after Waha Capital and Eshraq Investments dropped 0.89% and 1.02%, respectively.

The consumer staples sector decreased by 1.60% as Agthia Group plunged 2.34%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector rose 0.02% after Al Qudra Holding and RAK Properties grew 3.07% and 0.21%, respectively.

The banks sector edged up 0.04% on the back of the 0.80% increase in the Union National Bank (UNB).
