ADX inches up amid tighter liquidity

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed slightly higher on Sunday, backed by the real estate and energy sectors.

The general index added 0.08% or 3.43 points to reach 4,075.23 points.

Trading volume reached 188.50 million shares on Sunday as compared to 319.41 million shares on Thursday. Turnover stood at AED 200.42 million ($54.55 million), compared to AED 304 million ($83 million).

The real estate sector advanced 3.28% after Aldar Properties and RAK Properties levelled up 3.48% and 5.56%, respectively.

The energy sector increased 1.20% as Dana Gas recovered 2%. Meanwhile, TAQA retreated 2.44%.

On the flipside, the banks sector slid 0.44% due to a decline in 2.73%.

The telecom sector fell 0.31% as Etisalat went down 0.31%.

Eshraq Properties was the value leader after generating AED 41 million from trading 67 million shares.
