ADX loses 0.76% Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance for the third successive session on Wednesday, weighed down by the fall of real estate and telecom stocks.

The general index declined 0.76% or 33.81 points to 4,435.85 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 182.33 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 163.639 million on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 62.8 million shares, compared to 65.86 million shares.

The real estate sector led losers with a 5.03% decline as Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties retreated 6.22% and 0.97%, respectively.

The investment sector slid 2.62% after Waha Capital tumbled 2.78%.

The telecom sector decreased 0.56% as Etisalat went down 0.56%.

The banks sector fell 0.32% due to a decline in Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), and First Gulf Bank (FGB) by 1.02%, 0.48%, and 0.38%, respectively.

On the other hand, the energy sector rose 0.5% as TAQA added 2.22%.

FGB was the value leader after generating AED 55.55 million from the exchange of 4.28 million shares. Eshraq Properties was the most active stock with a trading volume of 17.3 million shares worth AED 17.95 million.
