ADX loses 10.18 pts in week

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a bearish performance in the week which ended 23 February, pressured by the fall of energy and banks stocks.

The general index declined 0.22% or 10.18 points to reach 4,653.39 points.

Trading volume reached 738.181 million shares this week, compared to 870.45 million shares last week. Turnover amounted to AED 1.12 billion, compared to AED 1.31 billion.

The energy sector tumbled 6.87% as Dana Gas and TAQA sank 8.16% and 2.04%, respectively.

The banks sector levelled down 0.11% after Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) slid 1.03% and 1.19%, respectively.

On the flipside, the telecom sector rose 1.63% due to a rise in Etisalat by 1.63%.

The real estate sector added 1.06% as Eshraq Properties grew 9.52%.
