Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Thursday amid volatile trading, weighed down by the fall of the real estate and banks stocks.
The general index declined 0.22% or 10 points to close at 4,521.63 points.
Trading volume reached 58.05 million shares on Thursday, compared to 67.44 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover stood at AED 118.23 million, compared to AED 117.85 million.
The real estate sector was the worst performer with a 1.75% decline as Aldar Properties fell 2.3%.
The banks sector sank 0.35% as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) tumbled 0.55% and 0.46% respectively.
On the other hand, the energy sector added 1.81% as TAQA went up 7.14%. The telecom sector rose 0.28% after Etisalat gained 0.28%.
Aldar Properties was the value leader after generating AED 25.53 million from the exchange of 12.1 million shares.
