ADX loses 30.09 pts Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Sunday, weighed down by the fall of banks, real estate, and telecom sectors.

The general index decreased 0.67% or 30.09 points to reach 4,465.19 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 102.54 million on Sunday, compared to AED 120.52 million on Thursday. Trading volume reached 51.11 million shares, compared to 35.84 million.

The investment sector led losers with a 1.28% decline as Waha Capital slid 1.35%.

The banks sector slid 0.87% after First Gulf Bank (FGB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) sank 1.15%, 1.03%, and 0.74%, respectively.

The real estate sector tumbled 0.56% as RAK Properties and Aldar Properties retreated 0.87% and 0.41%, respectively.

The telecom sector tumbled 0.55% after Etisalat added 0.55%.

On the other hand, the energy sector added 0.48% after TAQA gained 2.22%.

The services sector was the best performer with a 0.63% rise after Emirates Driving Co and Gulf Medical Projects (GMPC) increased 7.57% and 0.78%, respectively.

FGB was the value leader after generating AED 33.42 million from the exchange of 2.59 million shares, while RAK Properties was the most active stock with a trading volume of 11.48 million shares.
