ADX loses most in 41 sessions

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw the biggest losses in 41 sessions on Sunday, dragged by profit-taking on Etisalat and First Gulf Bank (FGB).

The general index declined 2.35% or 105.19 points to close at 4,373.54 points.

Turnover reached AED 280.53 million ($76.36 million) on Sunday, compared to AED 956.44 million ($260.34 million) last Thursday.

Trading volume fell to 138.25 million shares from 201.27 million shares.

The banks sector declined 3.58% as FGB and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) went down 6.64% and 1.72% in a row.

The telecom sector retreated 1.93% after Etisalat lost 1.93%.

Etisalat’s stock was the value leader after generating AED 112.51 million.

On the flipside, the energy sector increased 1.26% following gains of 6.82% by TAQA.

The real estate sector advanced 0.88%, helped by Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties which rose 2.63% and 0.74%, respectively.
