Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw an upward trend on Wednesday for the second successive session, meeting earlier forecast that the bourse will grow stronger or at least hold steady on healthier oil and global markets.
The general index gained 1.76% or 76.14 points to reach 4,394.66 points.
Turnover reached AED 236.776 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 129.17 million yesterday.
Trading volume moved up to 145.227 million shares from 65.38 million shares.
The banks sector levelled up 2.73% as First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) grew 5.29% and 2.66%, respectively.
The energy sector advanced 2.12% after TAQA increased 12.20%.
The real estate sector grew 1.05%; as Aldar Properties rose 1.12%, generating AED 70.83 million.
The telecom sector went up 0.82% due to an increase in Etisalat by 0.82%.
On the flipside, the investment sector led losers after falling 0.41%.
