ADX maintains losing streak Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance for the fourth successive day on Monday, weighed down by the fall of energy and telecom stocks.

The main index fell 0.21% or 9.57 points to reach 4,491.29 points.

Trading volume reached 102.723 million shares on Monday, compared to 209.340 million shares on Sunday. Turnover amounted to AED 160.351 million, compared to AED 206.67 million.

The market saw significant stability following a wave of rises witnessed at the beginning of last week, Raed Diab, vice president of Investment Research Department at KAMCO, told Mubasher.

The market may see fluctuations in the coming period given the Eid Al Fitr holiday and summer vacation, Diab added.

The main index sees resistance at 4,550 points, and a support at 4,465, 4,445, and 4,425 points, respectively.

The energy sector was the worst performer with a 2.69% decline as Dana Gas and TAQA went down 2.86% and 1.89%, respectively.

The telecom sector retreated 0.58% after Etisalat went down 0.58%.

The banks sector slid 0.09% as First Abu Dhabi Bank and Commercial Bank International (CBI) levelled down 0.46% and 6.67%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector topped gainers with a 0.52% rise as Aldar Properties and Manazel Real Estate added 0.86% and 1.89%, respectively.
