Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance for the third successive week.
The general index fell 1.41% or 64.46% to reach 4,516.84 points in the week ended 5 May.
Turnover amounted to AED 634.06 million this week, compared to AED 694.6 million last week. Trading volume reached 376.04 million shares, compared to 344.435 million shares.
The consumer staples sector led losers with a 5.63% decline.
The energy sector went down 1.75% as Dana Gas declined 2.38%, while the telecom sector retreated 0.85% after Etisalat sank 0.85%.
The real estate sector retreated 0.75% due to a decline in Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties by 1.87% and 0.44%, respectively.
On the flipside, the industrial sector added 0.11% as Gulf Medical Projects (GMPC) gained 21.21%.
Market capitalization amounted to AED 434.407 billion ($118.243 billion) this week, compared to AED 440.386 billion ($120 billion) last week.
