ADX maintains losses on blue chips

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance for the second session on Thursday, weighed down by the decline of blue chips especially in the telecom and banks sectors.

The general index retreated 0.43% or 18.75 points to reach 4,322.18 points.

Trading volume stood at 28.912 million shares on Thursday, compared to 29.7 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover reached AED 125.73 million, compared to AED 78.125 million.

The telecom sector slipped 0.53%, dragged down by Etisalat which was the value leader with a AED 37.63 million turnover.

The banks sector slid 0.46% as National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) went down 2.68% and 0.51% respectively.

The energy sector declined 0.39% after TAQA lost 1.82%.

The real estate sector tailed the list of decliners after falling 0.26%, pressured down by Eshraq Properties which lost 2.50%.
