ADX marks 1st weekly loss in 2M

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed the week in the red, its first drop after seven straight weekly gains.

The general index retreated 1.3% or 64.42 points to 4,612.33 points in the week ended Thursday, 1 February.

The investment sector and its stock Waha Capital dropped 5.16% each, while the energy sector decreased 2.05% after TAQA retreated 3.85%.

The telecommunications sector and its stock Etisalat lost 1.39% each.

The real estate sector shed 0.73% after Eshraq, Aldar, and RAK Properties fell 2.60%, 0.43%, and 1.28%, respectively during the week.

On the positive side, the insurance sector went up 0.54% after Methaq surged 10.39%.

Turnover amounted to AED 665.111 million in the week ended Thursday, 1 February, down from AED 800.75 million last week, while traded volume declined to 305.431 million shares from 353.111 million the week before.
