ADX marks 2nd straight rise Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Wednesday in the green, its second gain in a row.

The general index added 0.12% or 5.56 points to close at 4,485.16 points.

The telecommunications sector and its stock Etisalat helped the market rise after adding 0.56% each.

The banks sector edged up 0.10% on the back of three of its stock, led by the National Bank of Fujairah (NBF), which topped ADX risers and surged 15%, while Bank of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADBC) grew 2.5% and 0.14%, respectively.

On the flipside, the real estate sector shed 0.47% after Eshraq and Aldar declined 1.27% and 0.42%, respectively.

Turnover on the ADX amounted to AED 190.5 million on Wednesday, up from AED 122.6 million on Tuesday, whereas traded volume fell to 38.8 million shares through 638 transactions from 44.9 million.

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) was the most active in terms of value and volume, logging a turnover of AED 130.22 million through the exchange of 12.6 million shares through 108 transactions.
