ADX marks 3rd consecutive growth Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index surged 79.6 points, or 1.73%, to close at 4.688.57 points on Thursday, its third successive growth.

The ADX’s trading volume shrank to 45.97 million shares from 51.87 million on Wednesday, while the market’s liquidity rose to AED 132.22 million from 101.4 million in the previous session.

The banks sector surged 2.77% after First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) added 3.77% and 3.07%, respectively, while Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) levelled up 0.45%.

The energy sector gained 1.28%, pushed up by TAQA, which ballooned 5.88%, while Dana Gas rose 1.04%.

The real estate sector increased by 0.76%, as RAK Properties gained 1.47% and Aldar Properties grew 0.97%.

In a similar vein, the telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, added 0.29% each.
