ADX opens in green on energy, banks stocks

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a bearish performance in Tuesday’s early trades, after the fall of most sectors.

The general index lost 0.03% or 1.37 points to reach 4,343.94 points by 11:15am UAE time.

The energy sector was the worst performer with 0.39% decline as TAQA retreated 1.8%.

The banks sector slid 0.11% due to a decrease in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB).

The real estate sector topped gainers with a 1.06% rise after Aldar Properties went up 1.15%.

Turnover reached AED 57.35 million after trading 34.25 million shares through 505 transactions.

The UAE markets still suffer from weak liquidity and absence of institutional investment, thus paving the way for speculations, analysts told Mubasher.
