ADX opens lower on FGB, Etisalat

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Wednesday, in line with the rise of nine stocks led by First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Etisalat.

The main index slid 0.04% or 1.94 points to reach 4,407.11 points by 10:40am UAE time.

The consumer staples sector led losers after falling 1.9% as Agthia Group went down 2.4%.

The industrial sector levelled down 0.29% as Bildco sank 8.9%. The telecom sector decreased 0.25% after Etisalat tumbled 0.25%.

On the flipside, the banks sector rose 0.03% as National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) went up 1.9%, shrugging off the decline of First Gulf Bank (FGB) by 0.44%.

The market saw trading of 10.84 million shares through 150 transactions, with a turnover of AED 27.06 million.
