ADX rebounds on blue chips Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Wednesday, backed by the rise of blue chips in the energy and banks sectors.

The main index rose 0.97% or 40.90 points to reach 4,259.62 points.

Turnover stood at AED 268.75 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 383.44 million on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 173.68 million shares, compared to 279.39 million shares.

The energy sector added 1.41% as Dana Gas levelled up 1.75%.

The banks sector gained 1.18% after First Gulf Bank (FGB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) increased 2.17% and 1.55% respectively.

The telecom sector went up 0.86% as Etisalat grew 0.86%.

The real estate sector advanced 0.34%, spurred by Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties which climbed 1.21% and 5.41% respectively. Eshraq was the value leader after generating AED 108 million that accounted for 40% of the market’s liquidity.
