ADX resumes losses Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) reversed the positive performance it had maintained for two sessions on Wednesday, dragged down by the rise of the energy and banks sectors.

The general index fell 0.06% or 2.89 points to reach 4,581.76 points.

Trading volume reached 36.27 million shares on Wednesday, compared to 52.02 million shares on Tuesday. Turnover amounted to AED 113.78 million, compared to AED 171.28 million.

The industrial sector fell 1.93% as Union Cement topped losers with a 10% decline and Gulf Cement Co slid 6.12%.

The energy sector sank 0.91% as TAQA went down 3.45%.

The banks sector slid 0.1% after RAK Bank and Sharjah Islamic Bank went down 3.3% and 2.1%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector added 0.57% after Aldar Properties went up 0.9%

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) was the value leader after generating AED 30.41 million from the exchange of 2.69 million shares.
