ADX returns to gains at Tuesday's close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index rose 28.48 points, or 0.63%, to close at 4,565.78 points on Tuesday.  

The ADX’s trading volume reached 78.2 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to AED 151.98 million.

The banks sector added 1.17%, as First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Union National Bank (UNB) grew 1.67% and 1.39%, respectively.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, rose 0.62% each.

On the other hand, the real estate sector went down 1.33%, as Eshraq Properties plunged 8.82% and Aldar Properties shed 0.5%.

The energy sector decreased by 0.55% after Taqa dropped 8.77%.

Dana Gas topped the markets in terms of volume and value, with 37.84 million traded shares and a turnover of AED 38.54 million.

The ADX has stablilised following a profit-taking trend, vice president of Investment Research at KAMCO Raed Diab told Mubasher.

The market may see some fluctuations in the coming period coupled with the shortage of liquidity and incentives, he added.
