ADX reverses downtrend at close

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) reversed the bullish performance it maintained for two sessions on Thursday.

The general index fell 0.1% or 4.24 points to reach 4,390.42 points.

Turnover reached AED 206.74 million on Thursday, compared to AED 236.776 million on Wednesday.

Trading volume reached 90.86 million shares, compared to 145.227 million shares.

The investment sector led losers after falling 9.58%, weighed by Al Waha Capital which levelled down 9.79%.

The banks sector decreased 0.30% after Bank of Sharjah retreated 6.45%.

The insurance sector slid 0.17% as Al Khazna Insurance Company and Methaq Takaful Insurance lost 3.23% and 2.27%, respectively.

On the flipside, the consumer staples sector increased 2.27% as RAK White Cement advanced 10.83%.

The industrial sector went up 2.06% after Arkan Building Materials Company gained 7.61%.

The real estate sector recovered 1.69% due to a rise in Aldar Properties by 1.85%.

The energy sector levelled up 1.25% as TAQA grew 6.52%.
