Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Wednesday after nine sessions of rise, weighed by profit-taking and decline of banks and telecom stocks.
The general index declined 0.47% or 20.02 points to reach 4,276.14 points.
Trading volume rose to 88.84 million shares from 49.4 million shares. Turnover also rose to AED 107 million ($29.13 million) from AED 92.26 million ($25.12 million).
The banks sector retreated 0.9% as First Gulf Bank and National Bank of Abu Dhabi decreased 2.32% and 1.25%, respectively.
The telecom sector slid 0.31% after Etisalat lost 0.31%.
On the flipside, the energy sector increased 2.12% after TAQA and Dana Gas added 2.27% and 2.08% in a row.
Aldar Properties was the value leader after generating AED 23.67 million from trading 10.37 million shares, while Dana Gas was the most active company after exchanging 36.6 million shares.
