Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index added 33.86 points, or 0.68%, to 5,019.16 points in the week ended Thursday, 24 January 2019, pushed up by banking stocks.
The banking sector increased by 1.49%, as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) soared 8.41%, while First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) rose 0.68%.
The investment sector gained 0.51%, as Waha Capital levelled up 0.55%.
In contrast, the energy sector lost 1.09% after Dana Gas declined 2.98%, while the consumer staples sector decreased by 2.51%, as ASMAK dropped 10%.
The real estate sector went down 0.71% after Aldar Properties retreated 0.65%, while the telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, lost 0.47% each.
