Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) managed to rise for the third session in row on Sunday, backed by the gains of the energy and banks sectors.
The general index closed at 4,155.71 points, gaining 0.18% or 7.42 points; the highest level in nine sessions.
Trading volume rose to 203.76 million shares on Sunday, compared to 87.350 million shares. Turnover increased to AED 181.772 million ($49.5 million) from AED 209.53 million ($57.03 million).
The UAE markets are expected to continue its speculative trend amid heavy trading activity on banks sector’s stocks after the Federal Reserve raised the interest rate, analysts earlier told Mubasher.
The energy sector topped risers after adding 7.36% as Dana Gas advanced 11.11% to be the value leader with turnover reaching AED 66 million.
The banks sector levelled up 0.56% after First Gulf Bank grew 1.63%.
On the flipside, the investment sector led losers after falling 2.24% as Waha Capital declined 2.24%.
The telecom sector slid 0.63% as Etisalat retreated 0.63%.
The real estate sector inched down 0.29% after Aldar Properties decreased 0.87%.
