ADX rises on Etisalat Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a bullish performance on Thursday, spurred by the rise of blue chips led by Etisalat.

The general index rose 0.62% or 27.66 points to close at 4,481.19 points.

The market’s liquidity started to improve amid purchases of blue chips like Dana Gas and Aldar Properties, according to Fadi Elghattis, CEO of MindCraft Consultants.

Trading volume reached 158.07 million shares on Thursday, compared to 116.8 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover amounted to AED 344.35 million, compared to AED 240.9 million.

The telecom sector led gainers with a 1.7% rise as Etisalat went up 1.7%. The real estate sector also added 1.15% after Aldar Properties increased 1.75%.

The main index targets to reach 4,500 points to maintain its uptrend, Elghattis concluded.
