ADX rises on telecom sector Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Sunday for the second successive session, backed by the growth of telecom stocks.

The main index went up 0.24% or 10.35 points to reach 4,291.97 points.

Trading volume reached 58.06 million shares on Sunday, compared to 47.44 million shares last Thursday. Turnover stood at AED 80 million, compared to AED 126.56 million.

The telecom sector rose 1.62% as Etisalat went up 1.62%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector decreased 0.53% as Aldar Properties sank 0.76%. Similarily, the energy sector levelled down 0.39% after TAQA retreated 1.69%.

The banks sector also tumbled 0.24% due to a decline in National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) by 0.45%, 0.43% and 0.17% respectively.
