ADX sees highest weekly gains in 2M

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) witnessed the biggest gains in two months this week amid a rise in trading activity and liquidity, backed by the performance of Etisalat. 

The general index went up 2.97% or 126.37 points to reach 4,381.13 points.

Turnover grew to the highest level in four months to reach AED 1.7 billion this week, compared to AED 1.026 billion last week.

Trading volume stood at 569.703 million shares, compared to 533.591 million shares.

The real estate sector increased by 3.91% due to a rise in Aldar Properties and RAK Properties by 3.42% and 1.64% respectively.

The telecom sector advanced 3.86% and became the value leader after generating AED 863.937 million, backed by trades on Etisalat’s stock.

The banks sector levelled up 2.68% after National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) grew 8%, 7.09% and 4.7%, respectively.

The energy sector climbed 0.66% due to an increase in Dana Gas by 1.82%.
