ADX sees highest weekly losses in 5M

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance in the week ended 6 October, dragged down by the fall of banks, real estate and telecom stocks.

The main index reached 4,389.60 points after losing 1.94% or 86.72 points, its highest losses in five months.

Turnover reached AED 594.858 million this week, compared to AED 749.32 million last week. Trading volume stood at 291.55 million shares, compared to 438.468 million shares.

The banks sector fell 3.21%, weighed down First Gulf Bank (FGB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) which retreated 3.81% and 3.05% respectively.

The real estate sector slid 1.95% as Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties levelled down 3.75% and 3.61% respectively.

The telecom sector sank 0.25% as Etisalat tumbled 0.25%.

On the flipside, the energy sector advanced 3.3% after Dana Gas went up 3.7%.
