ADX sheds 59 points at close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) continued its negative performance for the second day in a row, as the main index closed Wednesday trading with a fall of 1.34% or 59.09 points to the level of 4,344.34 points.

Turnover decreased to AED 218.41 million ($59.5 million) from AED 354 million on Tuesday.

Trading volume also shrank to 128.04 million shares, versus 174.89 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Banks was the worst performing sector after falling 2.62% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and First Gulf Bank slid 3.92% and 3.75%, respectively.

The energy sector declined 1.16% due to a 1.96% in Dana Gas.

The real estate sector lost 1.02% as Aldar Properties decreased 1.51%.

On the flipside, the telecom sector rose 0.27%, supported by a rise of 0.27% in Etisalat, which was the most active share with a turnover of AED 67.11 million ($7.49 million).
