ADX sheds AED 3.7bn Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has seen a bearish trend on Tuesday, pressured by the banks and telecommunication sectors.

By the end of today’s trading session, the ADX’s general index dipped 0.64% to finish the mid-week session at 4,965.87 points.

Trading volume amounted to 29.099 million shares at a turnover of AED 124.551 million through 1,909 transactions.

The energy sector led losers with 2.18%, followed by the telecommunication sector which fell 1.11%.

The consumer goods and the banks sectors also fell by 1.09% and 0.7%, respectively.

Most of the blue-chip stocks dipped, including the heavyweight First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), and Etisalat, which slipped by 0.12%, 0.07%, and 1.11%, respectively.

The ADX has lost AED 3.74 billion today and market capitalisation closed at AED 506.647 billion.
