ADX shrugs off foreign, Arab buying in week

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Foreign and Arab investors moved towards buying on Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange during the third week of January, against a selling tendency among local and GCC traders.

ADX extended its bearish performance to the third successive week, weighed by the decline of all sectors mainly energy as oil continued its fall to levels not seen in 12 years.

Non-Arab foreign traders were net buyers by AED 45.78 million after buying and selling shares worth AED 247 million and AED 201.3 million respectively.

Non-GCC Arab traders were net buyers by AED 8.03 million, while GCC traders came in as net sellers by AED 29 million. UAE investors were net sellers by AED 24.86 million.

Institutional traders were net sellers by AED 54 million, while retail traders were net buyers by the same value.
