ADX stretches winning streak Thursday’s close

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index gained 17.04 points or 0.39% on Thursday to close at 4,947.02 points, boosted by the energy, telecommunication, and real estate sectors.

The ADX’s trading volume surged to 148.03 million shares from 21.5 million on Wednesday, while turnover leapt to AED 318.54 million from AED 94.45 million.

The general index maintained its upbeat performance, rising for the third day in a row.

The telecommunication sector topped the market’s risers, adding a 3.73%, buoyed by its only stock Etisalat which saw a similar increase.

Meanwhile, the services sector gained 2.93%, backed by Abu Dhabi Hotels’ 0.9% rise to AED 3.1, while the real estate sector rose 2.16% after Aldar Properties and Manazel Real Estate’s stock levelled up 2.81% and 0.88%, respectively.

The consumer staples sector grew 0.93% after Agthia's stock increased 1.36%, while the energy sector went up 0.36%, after TAQA increased 0.88% and Dana Gas added 0.36% after its board announced plans to complete its sukuk restructuring and on operation updates in Egypt, UAE, and Iraq.

However, the industrial sector’s stock dipped 2.26% after the stock of Julphar Pharmaceuticals fell 9.09%.
