ADX suffers losses amid higher liquidity Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance for the third successive session on Monday, in line with the decline of blue chips amid volatile trading.

The general index fell 0.43% or 19.74 points to reach 4,571.67 points.

Turnover grew to AED 148.064 million on Monday, compared to AED 132.414 million on Sunday. Trading volume reached 87.95 million shares, compared to 106.95 million shares.

The banks sector sank 0.64% after Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) slid 1.53% and 0.9%, respectively.

The real estate sector retreated 0.55% after RAK Properties and Aldar Properties levelled down 3.08% and 0.44%, respectively.

The telecom sector sank 0.55% after Etisalat retreated 0.55%.

On the other hand, the energy sector added 2.12% as TAQA and Dana Gas gained 2.27% and 1.69%, respectively.

Eshraq was the value leader after generating AED 57.102 million from the exchange of 48.29 million shares.

The consumer staples sector went up 1.78% due to a rise in Agthia Group by 2.42%.
