Cairo – Mubasher: The African Development Bank (AFDB) is considering a $25-30 million funding to for a 600-megawatt solar power project at the west of the Nile in Egypt, AFDB’s representative in Egypt Khalid El-Askari told Alborsa newspaper.
Two international solar power developers have asked the lender to finance a part of the project launched by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co (EETC) earlier this month, El-Askari added.
Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority Mohamed El-Khayat had previously said that Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy aims at implementing projects with a total capacity of 1,300 megawatts, including the West of the Nile project.
