AI to add AED 668.5bn to UAE economy - Report

Dubai – Mubasher: Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to increase the UAE’s economic growth by 1.6% and add AED 668.52 billion ($182 billion) to the national economy by 2035.

The AI will also add AED 135.91 billion, AED 80.81 billion, and AED 69.79 billion, respectively, to the financial services, healthcare, and transport sectors, according to a report released by Accenture, a global management consulting and professional services firm.

"The level of growth that AI stands to bring to the UAE’s economy is unparalleled," managing director of Accenture’s Financial Services practice in the Middle East and Turkey Amr El Saadani commented.

The AI is forecast to add $215 billion to Saudi Arabia’s gross value added (GVA) and increase the global profitability by 38% on average, the report found.

"While AI-led growth will be felt across a wide variety of industries, the financial services sector has the most to gain which is not surprising, given that many of its jobs can be significantly augmented with AI and machine learning,” El Saadani said.
