ASE benchmark tumbles 0.26% on financial sector’s pressure

Mubasher: Amman Stock Exchange finished Wednesday on a lower note, as the benchmark fell 0.26% or 5.52 points to 2,123.7.

Trading value also dropped to JOD6.4 million versus JOD8.4 million on Tuesday, while trading value stayed unchanged at 7.5 million shares traded in 3,640 transactions.  

All sectors showed a varied performance witnessing the slide of the financial sector (-42%) and the industrial (-018%). Only the services inched up 0.04%.

Out of 129 companies, 48 slipped and 33 rose.

The worst decliners were Arab Co for Investment Projects with a rise of 7.14% to JOD0.13, followed by Resources Company for Development and Investment that ended lower 6.66% to JOD0.14.

Meanwhile, the best gainers were Arabia Investments, Development and Financial Investment Holding that advanced 7.32% to JOD1.32 and then Jordan Pipes Manufacturing that increased by 5% to JOD1.05.
