ASE closed Sunday in green

Mubasher: The main index of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Sunday’s trading session in the green zone, as the main index gained 0.23% or 4.98 points and closed at the level of 2,169.52 points.

The main index rose on the back of blue chip stocks as Jopetrol, Al Eqbal, and Islamic Bank of Jordan grew 0.58%, 0.89%, and 0.26% respectively.

As for the sectors performance, the industrial sector went up by 0.36% as Phosphate Mines and Arab Aluminum added 2.76% and 2.28% respectively.

The financial sector gained 0.22%, as Bank Al Etihad increased by 4.16%, while United Financial Investments led the session’s gainers and surged 6.73%, the sector’s gains were offset by International Cards, today’s biggest loser which dropped 5%.

Jopetrol registered the highest traded value with JOD 544,330, while Al Amal Financial Investment was the most active in traded volumes with 159,580 shares.

The services sector edged up 0.09% on the back of Jopetrol and Afaq which grew by 0.84%.

Total traded volumes declined to 5.7 million shares compared to 6.13 million shares on Thursday’s session, while turnovers decreased to JOD 8.46 million from JOD 9.84 million.
