ASE closes Monday in red

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Monday’s trading session losing 0.25% or 5.22 points, closing at the level of 2,081.37 points.

The main index was dragged down by the declining blue chips, as Jopetrol lost 1.17%, Al-Eqbal 3.02%, and Invest Bank 2.94%.

The industrial sector declined 1.29%, on the back of Al-Eqbal, as well as Phosphate Mines which lost 4.41% and led the session’s losers, while Lafarge added 4.71% and was today’s top gainer.

Similarly, the services sector went down 0.23%, while the financial sector edged up 0.07%.

Contempro for Housing Projects was the most active in both traded value and volume, with 510,200 shares traded at a total turnover of JOD 525,530.

Total traded volume increased to 6.1 million shares compared to 3.7 million on Sunday. Total turnover also grew to JOD 6.4 million from JOD 6.1 million in the last session.
