Mubasher: The main index of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Tuesday’s trading session rising by 0.02% as it gained 0.43 points and closed at the level of 2,140.53 points.
The main index was dragged down by blue chip stocks, especially banks, as Arab Bank, Bank al Etihad, and Jordan Kuwait Bank declined by 0.33%, 0.52%, and 0.26% respectively, the three combined account for more than 15% of the main index’s weight.
The services sector decreased by 0.38%, as AFAQ went down by 1.67%, while the financial sector slipped 0.05% on the back of 7 stocks, as Al Amal Investment lost 1.51% and registered the highest traded values and volumes with 1.61 million shares with a total turnover of JOD 1.05 million.
On the other hand, the industrial sector gained 0.63%, as Lafarage led the session’s gainers and surged 4.76%, despite that Union Tobacco led the decliners and dropped 2.76%.
Total traded values increased to 11.3 million shares compared to 5.3 million shares last session, while traded volumes registered JOD 15.4 million up from JOD 6.1 million.
