ASE closes down 0.24% Wednesday

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s (ASE) main index was down 0.24% or 5.16 points to the level of 2,142.94 points at close of Wednesday’s trading session.

The fall was driven by an all-sector decline.

The services sector slid 0.55%, pressured by 4 key stocks, led by Orange, which dropped 2.22%.

The industry sector decreased 0.16% driven by 7 stocks led by Arabian Steel Pipes Manufacturing Company’s 4.61% fall, making it the worst performer on the ASE today. On the other hand, Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing was the best performer, rising 4.83%.

The financial sector slipped 0.1% on the back of United Financial Investments Company’s decline of 2.06%.

Trading volume decreased to 5 million shares, compared with 5.5 million on Tuesday, while trading value dropped to JOD 6.2 million, versus 12.5 million in the previous session.
