ASE down Sunday on blue chips

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange ended Monday’s trading session in the red zone, as the main index lost 0.77% or 16.33 points, closing at the level of 2,104.18 points.

The main index was dragged down by blue chips as Arab Bank, Jopetrol, and Bank of Jordan declined 0.33%, 1.14% and 1.89% respectively.

The financial sector went down 0.87%, as Bank al Etihad led the session’s decliners and dropped 3.45%, Al Ahli bank lost 2.48%, while International Cards was the top gainer and added 4.76%.

The services sector lost 0.62%, as Jordan Telecom Group Orange, and Arab International Hotels was down by 2.6% and 1.58% respectively.

The industrial sector slipped 0.32%, as Jordan Steel, and Arab Pesticides decreased 2.38%, and 2.06% respectively.

Jordan Steel registered the highest traded volume at nearly 66,600 shares.

Total traded volume declined today to 5.9 million shares from 7.5 million in the last session. Total turnover also decreased to JOD 6.5 million compared to JOD 10.6 million on Thursday.
